This week on Talk Sex With Dick, NYC Sex Therapist Dr. Richard Mills talks with Don Schmoll about surviving the AIDS Crisis and coming out of shame from being HIV positive.

Don discusses his journey of being diagnosed with HIV, surviving the AIDS crisis in the 1980s, witnessing an entire generation of gay men living in New York City disappear.  He describes the feelings of being “othered” due to the shame and stigma of his HIV status. He tells the story of the discrimination he’s faced and traumatic experiences from being HIV positive, and the work he does today as a therapist to help others overcome the challenges of their HIV status.
